Local Resident Writes About Her Father’s Mob-Connected Murder

[ 1 ] November 20, 2011 |

Spring Hill resident Teresa Bianco’s father was brutally gunned down at his tavern in Gary, Indiana in 1970. When Teresa set out to find out who did it, much to her surprise, gambling and the mob were revealed to be major factors.

Police claimed the file on his case was burned in a fire, but with the help of a librarian, Teresa read the newspaper reports and started putting pieces together.  She’s written a book about her discoveries called The Family Debt: A True Cold Case Crime Story.

You can meet her and hear more about her story, even pick up a signed copy of her book, at the Spring Hill Public Library at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 3.

In The Family Debt, Teresa exposes a unique blend of good guys, bad guys and family guardians. It’s a riveting crime story that keeps readers on the edge of their seats right to the very end. You’ll get to  know Giacomo ”Jack” Bianco, son of a Sicilian immigrant family, who become a prominent business owner, only to fall victim of an unfortunate and untimely demise. Who killed him? You decide.
