Maury Regional Medical Center offers Expectant parent classes each month with a variety of course topics, including a comprehensive six-hour class, breastfeeding, and a siblings class designed for new brothers and sisters. Lungs for Life: COPD Support Group – 1st Wednesday
Lungs for Life: COPD Support Group meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. in Maury Regional Medical Center’s Private Dining Room 1. Lungs for Life focuses on empowering self-care management of COPD through education and awareness. For more information, call 931.380.4094.
Blood pressure checks at Columbia Senior Center – Home Services – 2nd Tuesday
Free blood pressure checks are offered by Maury Regional Home Services on the second Tuesday of each month from 9:30–10:30 a.m. at the Columbia Senior Center located near the main entrance of Maury County Park. For more information, please call 931.490.4600.
Breast Cancer Support Group – 3rd Monday
The Breast Cancer Support Group meets on the third Monday of each month at Maury Regional Medical Center at 5:30 p.m. No meetings in July, August or December. Call 931.540.4166 for more information.
Ostomy Partners Support Group – 4th Thursday
The Ostomy Partners Support Group is for persons with an ileostomy, colostomy, or urostomy and meets the fourth Thursday of each month at Maury Regional Medical Center. Family members and friends are also invited. Contact 931.490.4600 for more information.

SMOKING CESSATION CLASSES – MONDAYS IN JULY
Maury Regional Medical Center offers a group smoking cessation program to help those who want to quit smoking. The program consists of a series of four classes held each Monday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the first floor conference room at the medical center. Classes are as follows: July 2–Starting Out & Removing Roadblocks; July 9–Getting Ready to Quit; July 16–Staying Off Cigarettes; July 23–Questions and Celebrations. Instructors are health professionals and former smokers. Individuals may join at any time and attend as many sessions as they like. Participants are required to purchase a $10 class guide with exercises for each class topic. For more information, call 931.490.7076.

Look Good….Feel Better is a free, national program for women undergoing cancer treatment sponsored by the American Cancer Society. The program offers advice on dealing with the temporary changes in personal appearance from cancer treatment and is intended to help the cancer patient “look good and feel better” by offering tips on skin and hair care. The program is held at 5:30 p.m. at Maury Regional Medical Center. Space is limited so reservations must be made by calling 615.327.0991.
