Like many Spring Hill citizens, Josephine Dye moved here to live by her grandchildren. As a result, a talented, energetic artist joined our community. Josephine not only has a rich background in art but she’s a dynamic instructor as well. Her work will be on display the month of December at the Spring Hill Public Library.
Josephine started out painting magnolias, the state flower of her home state, Mississippi. Painting nature has remained a focus but her drive to share the joy of painting with others led her to be a certified instructor in Landscape, Floral, Wildlife, and Portrait.
Remember Bob Ross, the frizzy headed guy that was on PBS? He showed how to create a landscape step-by-step. Josephine was an established artist looking for a faster technique when she became a certified Bob Ross instructor.
She’s also a Master Teacher of The Michael Wilcox School of Color. Mixing colors with oil paints is tricky business, but Josephine found this method simplifies the process.
You can see Josephine demonstrate oil painting at the Library on Wednesday, December 12 at 5:30 p.m. Information on her upcoming monthly classes using the Bob Ross method will also be available.
