Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) has been designated as a Blue Distinction® Center+ for Knee and Hip replacement by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BCBST). The designation is awarded to hospitals demonstrating outstanding expertise and efficiency in delivering specialty care resulting in better overall outcomes for patients.
“This is the second year that Maury Regional has been recognized for our Knee and Hip replacement services and we are the only facility in Middle Tennessee recognized as a Blue Distinction® Center+ in the latest BCBST ratings,” said Administrative Director of Orthopedic Services Carey Albright.
According to BCBST, the goal of the Blue Distinction® Center+ designation is to help patients find quality specialty care. To be considered, medical facilities must submit clinical data establishing that they meet objective, evidence-based thresholds for clinical quality. The Blue Distinction® Center+ designation is awarded only to facilities whose overall experience and aggregate data meets criteria established in collaboration with expert clinicians’ and leading professional organizations’ recommendations.
“We have physicians, nurses and therapists who are committed to providing outstanding care to knee and hip replacement patients. I am immensely proud of the outcomes we help patients to achieve and I am pleased to have been recognized by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee,” said Chief Executive Officer Alan Watson.
MRMC offers a wide array of inpatient orthopedic services, from minimally invasive outpatient procedures to comprehensive knee, hip and shoulder replacement. Outpatient services for orthopedic patients include physical therapy and home health care.
