Children’s Consignment Sale in Thompson’s Station Giving Back To Community

[ 0 ] February 28, 2013 |

Heaven ¢ent Consignment Sale was started last year by Sarah Scaffidi to help local families save as much money as possible during what can be the very expensive child-raising years.  In addition, she wanted to give back to her community.  Scaffidi believes this idea was “heaven sent.” heavencentBanner

A portion of every sale is donated to Hope 1:17, the adoption and foster-care ministry of Thompson Station Church.  According to Alicia Jordan, one of the founders of Hope 1:17, the $1,500 donation given to them last August “has been used to buy resources, including books and videos to better equip and empower our adoptive and potential adoptive/foster families.

We have also been able to bless families with restaurant and store gift cards once they welcome an adoptive child into their home.  As shoppers and consignors participate in Heaven ¢ent’s sale, they also bless Hope 1:17, so that we can do even more regarding orphan awareness, adoption education and foster care.”  Scaffidi hopes to be able to double the donation this year.

All unsold items marked for donation also stay in town and go to the Helping Hands Store in Spring Hill.

Heaven ¢ent is gearing up for their next event, the Spring/Summer sale, which will be held Friday, March 8 from 8am-8pm and Saturday, March 9 from 9am-12pm at Thompson Station Church, located at 2604 Thompson Station Road East in Thompson’s Station, TN.  Saturday is Half-Price Day.

Shoppers will find incredible bargains on gently used items, priced at a fraction of retail costs.

Heaven ¢ent is seeking infant through teen spring and summer clothing and shoes, as well as toys, books, nursery furniture, baby equipment and more.  Consignors receive 70% of their sales, minus a participation fee. They prepare all items at home, enter them into a user-friendly online inventory system, print out the barcoded tags, attach them to their items and drop off the merchandise … then sit back, relax and wait for their commission check to arrive in the mail.  Consignors earn the right to shop before the sale opens to the public at an exclusive Pre-Sale Thursday night.

According to Ms. Scaffidi, consignment sales are the very best way to clean out your children’s closets and turn outgrown clothes, toys, equipment and more into cash!

Volunteers are also needed to help at the sale.  Volunteers can earn up to 80% of their sales and shop before consignors on Thursday, and at a bonus Pre-Sale for Half-Price Day.

Heaven ¢ent is dedicated to the quality and price of the merchandise they offer, and hope shoppers will keep coming back season after season as they resell … replace … rejoice!

More information about shopping the sale, consigning your items and/or volunteering to work can be found at their website, www.heavencentconsignment.com.
