Russian Easter Eggs

[ 0 ] March 19, 2013 |

There’s a unique collection of eggs at the Spring Hill Public Library this month. In their display case you can see the special china, wooden, and blow-out eggs Helen Logvinov has collected over the past 60 years.

Helen came to America from Russia (USSR at the time) when she was 13 as a Displaced Person after WWII and has been collecting since she married and started her family. At Easter time, egg necklaces, egg necklaces, egg pins, and individual small eggs are exchanged and wron in Russia and by Russian communities around the world.

The Spring Hill Library is located at 144 Kedron Pkwy. and provides a host of free services to the community. For more information about the Spring Hill Public Library, go to www.springhilllibrary.org or call 931.486.2932.
