The Battle of Thompson’s Station

[ 0 ] March 20, 2013 |

Thompson’s Station celebrated the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Thompson’s Station Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Thompson’s Station’s antebellum estate Homestead Manor.

The event was a reenactment to relive the fateful past of the Civil War battle that occurred there on March 5, 1863. Reenactors, historians and the public gathered from throughout the region to assemble to commemorate the sesquicentennial historical event.

As a part of the event a battle scenario was recreated showing the courageous 17 year old “Alice Thomson” picking up the Flag of the “3rd Arkansas Regiment” and rallying the boys to VICTORY!

Here is a photo-capture of this historical reenactment by the very talented local photographer LuAnn Carden of LuAnn Carden Photography in Spring Hill, TN.
