Everyone in the community is invited to come out to help celebrate the 2nd Annual Spring Station 2013 Relay For Life.
There will be entertainment all night with DJ Jerry Henderson. Performing live will be The Longview Elementary Choir, The Mizells, Jeri Frances Bozeman and Wendy Stephenson and her band. The luminiaria ceremony will feature Tyler Ridings as speaker and Christy Guthrie with a poetry reading.
Spring Station Relay For Life also would like to thank local heroes by inviting anyone who serves the community to participate in their special “local heroes lap” at Relay For Life May 17th at Summit High School.
Opening ceremonies begin at 6pm on May 17th; Survivor Lap will begin at 6:30, followed by the Caregiver lap, the “local heroes lap” and then the Parade of Teams. they would like to invite community groups – including the fire department, police department, medical support staff, civic organizations, church groups, veterans, community volunteers and others – to join together in helping in the fight against cancer.
Relay For Life is an overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for the American Cancer Society. Great foods, a ping pong tournament, and a kids zone are just a few of the activities that teams have planned. Spring Station businesses, local celebs, and generous people ~ a silent auction will be held and any donations for goods or services are greatly appreciated! Teams are looking for individual items, theme or other baskets, services, unique experiences, gift cards, etc. for our 2013 Relay For Life Silent Auction.
Relay For Life helps communities celebrate the lives of those who have faced cancer, remember loved ones lost and fight back against the disease. The American Cancer Society is dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by saving lives, diminishing suffering and preventing cancer through research, education, advocacy and service.
