Sketch Bourque (yes, that is his real name) is the artist whose work is on display at the Spring Hill Library for the month of June.
He is a displaced native of Louisiana, and has been living in Tennessee for 7 years. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
His artwork is comprised of drawings, paintings, and sculptures, all of which are done in a variety of styles, which he hopes to be a “Cabinet of Curiosities.”
He has been commissioned to create art by individuals living in Tennessee, Louisiana, California, and even India.
His primary goal in life was to be a filmmaker but he enjoys concentrating on artwork because there is no outside interference during its creation. He says it is a supremely private endeavor.
Sketch will give a free art class on Monday, June 17, at 2 p.m. Enjoy a guided tour of his art on display throughout the library and learn easy step-by-step methods of drawing and using different mediums. You can sign up at the Library for an email reminder.
The Spring Hill Library features a different artist each month. For more information about the Spring Hill Public Library, go to www.springhilllibrary.org or call 931.486.2932.
