Friends of Maury County Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a Family-friendly Step-by-Step Painting Class of the Hampshire Sheep for ages 12 and older on June 25, 2013, from 6pm to 9pm at the Nell H. Wright Building located off Lion Parkway in Maury County Park in Columbia, TN. A more complicated Sheep painting will be available for students who want more of challenge. The fee of $35 includes the 3-hour class, paint, canvas, brushes, and instruction by local artist Susan E Jones. You may bring snacks to share, beverages and friends, but no alcohol is permitted in the park. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or grandparent.
“Every person who has ever lived possesses a creative spirit,” says Susan Jones, class instructor, “and it’s my mission to introduce as many people as possible to theirs. Even if acrylic paint is not your innate medium, you can learn to express yourself artistically with a few techniques and practice. I love the moment the “magic” happens and my students are proud of their masterpieces.”
Everyone will go home with their own 16 x 20 inch masterpiece. No prior experience is necessary, just a desire to find your creative spirit and to have a good time. For more information or to make your reservation, contact Susan Jones at 615-216-5907. Due to limited seating, payment for the class is required at registration.
