Have you ever wanted to learn how to build a bow-drill fire?

Or how to harvest and prepare wild edibles?

How about rescuing someone from the backcountry with minimal supplies?

If so, the Horton Outdoor Survival School (HOSS) is the program for you!

With over 50 years of combined survival expertise, our experts will teach you to not only survive but to thrive in the wild.

You will learn how to cope with psychological stresses, manage injuries, tie knots and lashings, improvise shelters, start and maintain a fire, find and filter water, and effectively trap and prepare your own food.

Are you ready?

*Children ages 12-17 must be accompanied by an adult

*Lunch on Friday, Breakfast and Lunch on Saturday, and Breakfast on Sunday will be provided

Required Gear List

Fixed Blade Knife
Ferrocerium Rod
Screw Top Water Bottle
Hatchet or Saw
8’x10′ Tarp
50ft paracord
Flashlight or Headlamp
Small metal pot (not aluminum)
Sleeping bag/pad
Fishing Line/ assorted small hooks
Cook Kit if needed for meals
Set of extra clothes in waterproof container
Small first aid kit including any necessary medications
Tent or Hammock to be used for Friday night only
