Kiwanis Yard Sale to Benefit Imagination Library

Started by Dolly Parton in East Tennessee in 1995, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has served more than 923,000 children in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Australia, and growing!

Maury County Imagination Library mails age-appropriate books free of charge to registered children monthly from birth to age five. Money that is raised locally is matched by the Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation.

Columbia Kiwanis12th Annual Yard Salebenefits theImagination Library.This organization helps put Maury County children’s education on the fast track. They believe that children who are read to from an early age are more prepared for success in school and are more prepared for success in life.

Proceeds from last year’s sale made it possible for the civic club to give $4,000 to the early literacy effort. Kiwanis has donated more than $35,000 to the program since 2005.

Please consider donating to the Columbia Kiwanis Club, below are the items they are looking for:

  • furniture
  • glassware
  • holiday decorations
  • baskets
  • kitchen ware (expect knives)

A few items will not be accepted: clothes, televisions, sleeper sofas, textbooks, encyclopedias, and computers.

Items may be dropped at the Memorial Building, Friday, Feb. 23rd from 1PM-4PM.
