The public is welcome to attend to hear guest speaker Dr. Cory L. Calendine speak about the opioid crisis and its affect on families. In 2016, there were 1,186 opioid-related overdose deaths in Tennessee—a rate of 18.1 deaths per 100,000 persons—higher than the national rate of 13.3 deaths per 100,000 persons.

Dr. Calendine, a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with Bone & Joint Institute in Franklin will lead the discussion.  Dr. Calendine is dedicated to staying on the cutting-edge of his field, while also volunteering for several non-profits in Middle Tennessee.
