Event Description

The City of Columbia, Parks, and Recreation is having its third annual Veterans Day Program. The theme is “Portraits of Patriotism” and will be held on Saturday, November 5th, from 9 – 2 pm, at Riverwalk Park in Columbia.

The ceremony to honor veterans will be at 10:00 am. Portraits of local veterans, with their biographies, will be displayed throughout the park.  We encourage the public to interact with veterans at the event and ask them about their service to our nation. Thank them for dedicating their lives to protect our freedoms.

There will be camouflage face painting for kids, and the Tennessee National Guard will have vehicles, weapons, and equipment, on display, and ready to interact with the public about their service to our state and nation. Local veterans will provide vintage military vehicles, weapons, and equipment, depicting various time periods in history. A community event for everyone.
