Statehood Day at the Tennessee State Museum

Join us at the Museum on Statehood Day (Tuesday, June 1) for a day full of activities to commemorate Tennessee’s 225th birthday!

10:00 am – 5:00 pm: Opening of the self-guided tour and online exhibition “Tennessee at 225: Highlights from the Collection”
10:00 am – 12:00 pm: Interpreters and Pop-Up Tent at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park
10:00 am to 3:00 pm: Educators will be in the galleries throughout the day to answer questions and assist visitors.
11:00 am: Tennessee Story Time with Miss Morgan. Join Ms. Morgan for an in-person Storytime! Celebrate Statehood Day with this free, festive program. Ms. Morgan will read Lorraine and participants can complete a fun craft. This program will be socially distanced, and reservations are required. Geared to children aged 2-6, but all ages welcome! 2:00 pm: In Conversation with State Historian, Dr. Carroll Van West on State History around Tennessee
Join State Historian, Dr. Carroll Van West and curators Annabeth Hayes and Brigette Jones in a lively discussion of efforts around Tennessee to preserve our history, highlight local stories and inspire the future of state history.
