Event Description

Join us at Henry Horton State Park for the dedication of the new family-friendly storybook trail! We will be gathering at the trail (which is located just behind the swimming pool and Conference Lodge) at 10:30 am on October 13th to cut the ribbon on this exciting new piece of the park! This is a free event, so bring your kids out to enjoy literature and nature at the same time!

Tennessee State Parks Storybook Trails tell a nature-themed story with signs placed at a child’s height throughout a short trail at a park. In addition to promoting literacy, and parental engagement, Storybook Trails encourage families to connect with nature and engage in a healthy, outdoor activity.

Tennessee State Parks Imagination Library Storybook Trails are brought to you thanks to a grant from the Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation, whose mission is to promote early childhood literacy in Tennessee’s birth to age 5 population.
