Event Description

Join us at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park in downtown Nashville to celebrate 226 years of Tennessee’s Statehood.
This free event will be a day full of activities for all visitors to enjoy!

Day-long festivities for both days are listed below.
Tennessee State Library and Archives will display Tennessee’s three constitutions alongside other historic documents.

Tennessee historians will discuss the significance of the documents in state history.
Tennessee State Museum will host historic games and crafts for children.

Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park will share information about the park and Tennessee’s history in the Park’s Court of Three Stars.

Wednesday, June 1st – Scheduled activities include:
10:00am – Tour of Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. Meeting at the park visitor center and concluding at the State Museum.
11:00am – Story Time at the State Museum. Meet in the Children’s Gallery to hear the story of John Philip Duck.
11:30am – Keynote speaker at the State Museum discussing the museum’s history over the last 85 years.
12:30pm – Cupcakes in the State Museum Grand Hall to celebrate Tennessee’s statehood.
1:00pm – Tennessee State Museum Highlight Tour
2:00pm – Tour of Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. Meeting at the park visitor center and concluding at the State Museum.
3:00pm – Tennessee State Museum Highlight Tour.

Saturday, June 4th – Scheduled activities include:
9:00am – Tour of Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. Meeting at the park visitor center and concluding at the State Museum.
10:30am – Tennessee State Museum Highlight Tour.
11:00am – Story Time at the State Museum. Meet in the Children’s Gallery.
1:00pm – Tour of Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. Meeting at the park visitor center and concluding at the State Museum.
3:00pm – Tennessee State Museum Highlight Tour.
