The Story of Pop Geers: Infamous Local Horse Racer

Sarah Elizabeth Hickman McLeod, will tell us the story of Edward “Pop” Geers (1851-1924), Tennessee’s most famous horse racer and a horse trainer for many families in Spring Hill.
Harness racing was popular at the turn of the century and Geers won his first race at age 24 and four years later opened his own stable in Columbia, Tennessee.
