Weed Wrangle 2022
March 5, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
9:00AM-12:00PM
Meet at Wilhoite Mill Trail Parking Lot
Weed Wrangle: is a statewide volunteer event in conjunction with the Garden Club of America that focuses efforts on invasive plant removals or native plant restoration. Volunteers learn, practice, and begin a habit of maintaining an area free of non-native invasive plants and encourage replanting with natives in removal areas.
This volunteer event will consist of invasive plant removal of privet and bush honeysuckle that has overtaken a dry stack stone wall. Once this wall is exposed it will provide visitors on the Wilhoite Mill and Spring Creek trails with a visual of a skillfully built structure that as remained largely intact for over a century.
This Roughly 400ft long wall will be a considerable interpretive addition to these trails. We will meet at the Wilhoite Mill parking lot on Nashville Hwy. across from River Rd. Please wear closed toed shoes and clothing you can work in. We will have water and snacks, but we ask that you bring your own bottle to save on plastic bottles.
We look forward to seeing everyone out at the park for a great day of being outside and helping keep the park beautiful!
