Homestead Manor Features The Henningsens, Local Vendors at First Thompson’s Station Farmers Market
The Thompson’s Station Farmers Market returns on Wednesday, May 11 to kick off the 2016 season at the Homestead in Bloom Festival, which will feature an array of local vendors and artisans at Homestead Manor, in addition to a live sunset concert by award-winning songwriters, The Henningsens.
The public is invited to attend the free event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the manor’s historic grounds, which will offer plenty of farmers market favorites, including fresh produce, jams and jellies, handmade jewelry, crafts and more, in addition to interactive demos and a pop-up fresh flower boutique.
Plus, the Thompson’s Station Farmers Market has partnered with the University of Tennessee Extension in Williamson County to hold a “Trash 2 Treasure” contest, where participants will repurpose unused items into new pieces and art. Festival-goers will have the opportunity to vote on the contestants’ final creations at the event for $5, which will benefit the Land Trust of Tennessee. Those interested in entering should email amitch15@utk.org or call 615-790-5721 to register.
The celebration will continue from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. inside the Barn at Homestead Manor for a live concert by The Henningsens–a country trio of hit songwriters who have toured with Brad Paisley, The Band Perry and a number of other Grammy-winning artists. Tickets for the performance are $10 per carload in advance and $15 per carload the day-of. A portion of all concert proceeds will also be donated to the Land Trust of Tennessee.
