Rachel Layton, Marketing Director for A. Marshall Family Foods, the hospitality parent company responsible for Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurants, Puckett’s Boat House, and Homestead Manor, will be the guest speaker for the Kiwanis Club of Spring Hill/Thompson’s Station on Tuesday, April 12th, at the Spring Hill Fresh offices located at 2524 Depot Street.
Rachel is a native Hoosier, who graduated from Ball State University with a degree in Telecommunications. In 2011, she moved to Nashville to pursue a vibrant, young culture and by 2013, found her way to graduate school at the Jack C. Massey Business School at Belmont University. During her studies, she became the President of both the Massey Graduate Council and the Women MBAs group and was the first student ever to do both simultaneously.
She began crafting initiatives to better both groups by founding the “Professional Photo Day” for students, arranging multiple food sorts supporting the Second Harvest Food Bank, and “Resume Workshop” nights to benefit the women of Thistle Farms. Though she completed her MBA in December of 2015, she considers herself a lover of learning and has a deep passion for helping others.
During her time with A. Marshall Foods, she’s been responsible for the creation of the Mission H2O campaign, which raised more than 10,000 water bottles for the Nashville Rescue Mission in one month. Rachel loves living in Nashville, trying out new restaurants and going hiking. She’s a resident of Sylvan Park with her Persian cat, Alyce.
The public is welcomed to come out and hear Rachel share the vision and philosophy A. Marshall Foods has regarding building community and some of the ways they are currently involved in supporting the Spring Hill, Thompson’s Station and Columbia area!
