Maury County Public Schools & Discovery Education Kick Off School Year With Unique Professional Development Event

Event Focuses on Preparing Students to be Globally Competitive, Building a Culture ofξProblem-Based Learning (PBL)

Tuesday, August 30,ξMaury County Public Schools andξDiscovery Education, the leading provider of digital content for K-12 classrooms, are partnering to host a special launch event to kick-off the district’s new professional development initiative, which focuses on problem-based learning.

Over the next four years, the district is partnering with Discovery Education to help Maury County educators learn how to create problem-based learning environments that prepare students to succeed in college and careers.

During this inaugural professional development event, approximately 100 educators will be introduced to the concept of teacher leadership and learn new instructional strategies supporting the implementation of problem-Î_based STEM instruction. In addition, attendees will be guided by Discovery Education professional development experts as they enhance theirξfoundational skills for integrating digital content into instruction and explore instructional strategies for maximizingξstudentξengagement.
