Maury Regional Offers Seminar Addressing Health Care Planning

One of the best gifts that we can provide for ourselves and those we love is to plan in advance. We make informed decisions about saving for retirement—”even purchasing a car—”so why do we put off planning for medical issues?

Whether your health changes as the result of aging or an accident, your care should be based on your personal wishes regarding dignity and quality of life. On Saturday, April 29, Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) will be offering a free education program from 10-11 a.m. to help individuals know how to prepare. The program will be held in the MRMC Annex at 1223 Trotwood Avenue in Columbia.

Dr. Thomas Quinn, a critical care specialist, and the MRMC palliative care team of Talitha Harris, BSN, Lyndall Propst, chaplain, and Tammy Stokes, BSN, will help those attending learn about:

  • Tools to help make certain your needs/desires are met
  • Medical options and how to decide what is right for you
  • Selecting someone to make health care decisions if you are unable to do so
  • Five Wishes: a free living will and so much more

Participants are encouraged to register at on the Classes & Events section or by calling 931.381.1111, x2445.
