September Eat Green for Tennessee Campaign Benefits Organization’s Conservation Efforts
Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant in downtown Nashville donated a portion of its proceeds from the Sept. 14 Eat Green for Tennessee campaign to The Land Trust for Tennessee on Tuesday, Sept. 27.
Puckett’s general manager, Autumn Friese and Rachel Layton, Director of Marketing for A. Marshall Family Foods Inc., along with several employees, presented a check for $1,680.10 to Liz McLaurin, president and CEO of The Land Trust for Tennessee at the restaurant located on the corner of 5th Avenue and Church Street downtown.
In addition to several local restaurants and breweries, Puckett’s Gro. joined in The Land Trust for Tennessee’s efforts to raise money to protect the state’s farmland and natural landscapes through its annual Eat Green for Tennessee fundraiser earlier in the month. Each participating restaurant pledged to donate 10% of its proceeds collected that day to the organization.
Puckett’s Gro. and its parent company, A. Marshall Family Foods Inc., are prominent supporters of community organizations and have a vested interest in preserving local agriculture; Homestead Manor, the restaurant group’s multi-layer property in Thompson’s Station, Tenn. that includes a 40-acre farm from which many of its on-site restaurant’s ingredients are sourced, is on a land trust.
