Join our local farmers, artisans and craft vendors for opening day!
It’s spring time in Tennessee, and what is more exciting than the prospect of fresh foods provided by your local farmers?
Between May 11 and October 12, you’ll find farm-to-table, non-GMO, locally grown produce; free-range eggs; grass-fed meats; artisan breads and baked goods; handmade crafts; canned goods; smoked meats; and much more at the Spring Hill Farmers Market.
The seasonal market will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. every Thursday, and 10 a.m. 2 p.m. Saturday, at Harvey Park, 4001 Miles Johnson Pkwy.
The Spring Hill Farmers Market is not only a place to buy local goods, but a great way to get families on a healthier path.
“The Farmers Market falls under our Healthier Spring Hill’ movement; not only does it provide fresh fruits and vegetables to families, it also gets them up and out of the house!” said Krystal Turner, recreation coordinator.
“We have amazing local farmers who offer a variety of items from heirloom tomatoes and fresh herbs and spices, to smoked salmon and traditional old-fashioned sweets.” said Sonjalyn Rine, recreation manager.
Kam Thronhill, a local farmer with Middlin Farms, remarked on the sense of community within the farmers market.
“I love the sense of community between vendors and also between vendors and customers,” Thronhill said.
