Spring Hill High School Raiders head football coach Tom Turchetta has announced this week his resignation week to his coaches and players.
Coach Turchetta stated, “I have resigned my position as teacher and head coach at Spring High School for personal reasons not related to the SHHS football program and I look forward to pursuing my teaching/coaching career in the near future. I would like to add a huge thank you to all the players, families, coaches,ξboosters and supporters of the program for their help and support in the three years I have been at Spring Hill.”
His career includes over 30 years of coaching experience including many years at the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr, Christine Potts, principal of SHHS, stated, “Coach Turchetta was hired three years ago to turn around the program. In those three years he has successfully changed the culture of the program and brought back a level of respect to the program. This has transferred into the building as well as the community. We thank him for everything that he has done and wish him the very best in his next endeavor.”
Assistant coach Nick Deschamps is expected to serve as interim head coach. Coach Turchetta departs his position the end of January.
