Police officers and their families, as well as the families of the fallen, will pay their respect and honor to law enforcement all over the country in observance of National Police Week, May 15th through 21st.
National Police Week pays special recognition to law enforcement officers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and lost their lives in the line of duty. In 1962 President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day which falls on National Police Week each year.
Locally, the Spring Hill Police Department will hold a special ceremony on Thursday, May 19th to honor those that gave their lives in the line of duty and those who currently faithfully serve Spring Hill.ξ The service will be 7 pm at Port Royal Park located at 4285 Port Royal Road in Spring Hill.ξ Police Chief Don Brite says the entire community is invited to attend.
Spring Hill FRESH joins with our community to offer our thoughts and prayers for the friends, family, and fellow officers who are grieving the loss of a loved one and we salute current and former police officers.
