Sudsy’s Car Wash Grand Re-Opening to Benefit Spring Hill Fire and Police Departments
100% of Car Washes Proceeds to Be Donated to First Responders
After a fire destroyed their business on November 27th, 2018, Sudsy’s Car Wash plans to hold a Grand Re-Opening on Friday, August 3rd & Saturday, August 4th. While the festivities will include free food and refreshments, appearances by the seven-foot Sudsy Duck mascot, plus balloons, and giveaways, the real headliner is Spring Hill’s first responders. Both the Spring Hill Fire Department and Spring Hill Police Department will be the guests of honor, with onsite presence and 100% of every individual car wash purchased during the two-day grand re-opening celebration donated to the two departments.
“It was difficult to imagine this day a few months ago,” states Sudsy’s Car Wash Owner Troy VanLiere. “It was just after Thanksgiving, when a devastating fire destroyed most of our business. We were fortunate that no one was injured in the fire and that we get the opportunity to re-open six months later with the love and support of our community. What better way to thank the incredible first responders, particularly our police and fire departments, who literally put their lives on the line every day for our community, than by honoring them and raising money for them during our Grand Re-Opening.”
Consistent with their selfless service to others, both the Spring Hill Fire Department and Spring Hill Police Department has decided to donate their portion of the proceeds to the Baker family. 32-year-old Police Sgt. Daniel Baker was shot and killed in the line of duty on May 30th. The 10-year career Dickson County Sheriff and Marine Corps veteran left behind a wife, Lisa, and Daughter Merideth. Sgt. Baker’s father, Detective Darryl Baker, and his step brother, Officer Evan Bohn, both work for the Spring Hill Police Department.
“When Sudsy’s Car Wash reached out to our department, our first thought was helping the Baker family after their tragic loss,” stated Spring Hill Fire Chief Terry Hood. “Firefighters love their families and our ‘Brothers in Blue’ are family, that’s what we do and I know that the Spring Hill community will come out in full force to support such a great cause.”
“With the family connection, and the many officers with SHPD who knew Sgt. Baker, myself Included, we shared the personal impact of this tragedy,” added Don Brite, Spring Hill Chief of Police. “A small portion of the proceeds will also go toward travel expenses for Daniel’s father, Det. Darryl Baker and his family, to attend the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C., where Law Enforcement Officers lost in the line of duty throughout the year will be honored. Daniel’s name will be added to the Police Memorial Wall so the sacrifice he made for the community he served and protected will never be forgotten. Thank you to Sudsy’s Car Wash, Troy VanLiere, and to all of those in our community and beyond, who contribute to this special event.”
After an extensive restoration and remodel, Sudsy’s Car Wash is back to serving the Spring Hill community with the absolute best car wash experience possible. Upgrades during the rebuild include an entertaining one-of-a-kind tunnel light and sound show that synchronizes over 3,700 LED lights to music playing on the guest’s car radio; new touchscreen pay stations; and most importantly, brand new tunnel equipment, resulting in a significantly cleaner and dryer vehicle. Additionally, new wash packages reflect increased value and simplified choices with the popular Unlimited Wash Club still leading the charge for the most convenient, fastest, and least expensive way to keep your vehicle clean.
“We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the Spring Hill community for their love, prayers and support through a difficult time,” continued VanLiere. “It’s another chapter in God’s continuing story of His goodness and faithfulness. We’re so excited to be back helping Spring Hill ‘Drive Clean and Drive Happy!’ and having a chance to give back to a community who has given us so much.”
